Forest Bathing is a unique, immersive, slow-paced and mindful experience. Explore the woods, awaken your senses to its sounds, beings, textures, and beauty. Different from a typical hike or naturalist walk, it is an invitation to move slowly, wander, pause, gather. The emphasis is on unplugging, calming the mind, and engaging with the natural world. Many studies have shown that this type of experience in nature reduces stress, lowers cortisol levels and blood pressure, increases energy, enhances sleep, increases natural disease-fighting cells, and provides an overall sense of well-being.
This hike will be a moderate distance uphill on uneven terrain. Please wear sturdy shoes for walking or hiking. Long pants are also recommended.
Meet in the parking lot at the botanical garden just off Snowden Lane opposite the entrance to Smoyer Park.
This offering is led by Linda Domino, a certified guide by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs.
