Yoga for Trauma

Research demonstrates that trauma of all types, whether big or small, the loss of a loved one, physical violence or shock, and even an unstable societal experience, is held in the body and that through the body we can find healing. Yoga has been found to be an effective and powerful movement practice to not only increase body awareness, but also to integrate body sensation with our thoughts and experience. By working with our body experience, we can gain a sense of agency and power over ourselves and our lives. This class will offer a thoughtful and slow progression of postures, a soothing and healing practice of breath and an enlivening experience of sound (through chanting). All are welcome whatever your need or desire for a safe space to rest and move.
